The Met office have an amber warning out for the west country over the next couple of days. You might want to check on any elderly relatives or neighbours and make sure they are staying warm enough.

That hard cold we have been having which has come from the east is set to bump heads with a warm front of rain coming from the west, likely to turn from rain to sleet and snow tomorrow afternoon and with dangerous black ice to watch out for on the roads overnight. The Highways Agency will be working the main roads as usual but be ware of those B roads which probably haven't been gritted.

We have already had some snow on higher ground like the Blackdowns which has stayed due to the hard ground frost but we could be in for  a sensible fall of 2-10cm in some areas. So the kids around Taunton might be able to brush the cobwebs off their sledges again .

Sunday will see it start to clear but still icy and it should be drier on Monday for going back to work and school, but as we know that can change......( have you seen what's happening in Europe?).
