Bears are chasing stars from Somerset

Warwickshire have made their move as they try to lure Jos Buttler, and his Somerset team-mate Nick Compton, to Edgbaston – by lodging official approaches for the out-of-contract pair.
Nick Compton looks set to stay for another year
The Bears – who are halfway through an LV= County Championship match against Somerset – are understood to have put in a formal 28-day period of notice to discuss terms with the duo.
While Buttler's situation remains unclear, he certainly appears the more likely of the pair to move on, with Compton understood to have indicated that he is willing to sign a one-year deal to stay at Taunton.
Buttler will certainly not be short of suitors as he ponders whether to leave his home county for the sake of his career – and Warwickshire appear to be in a position to offer him the chance to keep wicket in all white-ball cricket.
Some eyebrows were raised at the timing of Warwickshire's reported approach for two of Somerset's finest talents, given the counties are locked in a Division One battle at Edgbaston.
But a senior Somerset source played down the timing, suggesting it was an irrelevance, particularly as Buttler is in Taunton preparing for England Lions' second match against Bangladesh A, which takes place today.
