Saturday (27th October) saw a hugely successful event hosted by 2 family run High Street businesses, Craftasmic & Café Culture, working together in welcoming over 100 people to a day of creativity!
TV craft celebrity, Kay Halliwell-Sutton, owner and designer of UK company 'IndigoBlu' was welcomed by Craftasmic to host their 3rd birthday bash by entertaining and educating their customers with a day cram-packed with her well know unique techniques and products.
The UK craft market has grown immensely over the last few years with wide coverage devoted to a 'make do and mend' society on TV.
James Hembrow, owner of Craftasmic, said "It was great that someone as well known as Kay in the UK Craft Industry chose to join us and our customers to celebrate our 3rd Birthday! It's great that over the 3 years of being open on Taunton's High Street we have been able to promote and encourage both young and old to return to and discover the benefits and enjoyment of 'making your own', be it Christmas cards, wedding stationery, home decorations, or anything in between! Thanks to the support of our local customers, we have really been able to make a name for ourselves in the crafting industry and it is for these reasons IndigoBlu chose to do a launch of 2 new products with us at Craftasmic this weekend! It was great to have Café Culture onboard to keep all our customers well refreshed throughout the day!"
Kay introduced her never seen before craft stamps, prior to any TV launch, which encapsulate her quintessentially English designs. 'Mr Fan-tash-tic' is one of these NEW stamp designs which is being released in time to help promote awareness of 'MOVEMBER'.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men's faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of this is to raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
"Promoting the cause with our customers on the day helped start to raise awareness and funds and we will continue to sell the aptly named 'Mr Fan-tash-tic' craft stamp in store asking for a donation with each one purchased for 'Movember'", said James.
