Elderly woman discovered trapped in her Taunton home

Emergency services took action yesterday after a concerned daughter heard cries of help from her elderly mother trapped inside her home.

The daughter was unable to gain entry to the property as a chain was on the door and no other means of access was possible.

Her mother was calling out for help.

Fire crews were called and quickly gained entry to the elderly woman's property at around 10.10pm. It was discovered she had fallen and was trapped behind a door in her home.

The woman was left safe and in the care of an ambulance crew and her family.
