Taunton- Missing man
Wallace Finch (73), a resident at Bryngwyn Court, Bulmer Avenue, Hereford, has not been seen since Tuesday November 1st and was reported as missing by his family on Friday 4th.
About 10 years ago, Mr Finch moved to Hereford from Taunton, where he had lived most of his life.
PC Bart McDonagh said: "Mr Finch is a loner and known to go off on his own for a number of days as he is something of a backwoodsman and likes to spend time living off the land.
"However, he has been away longer than usual and, considering his age and the recent cold nights, we and his family are concerned for his welfare.
"His family feel he may have returned to Somerset, and in particular the Taunton area, which he still feels is his home."
Mr Finch is 5ft 4ins tall, balding and of average build. He normally wears a light green jacket and dark trousers.
PC McDonagh from Hereford Police Station added: "If anyone recognises the description of Mr Finch, or the photo we have released as part of our appeal, and has seen him in recent days I would like them to contact me. If anyone has seen someone matching Mr Finch's description living rough or in the Somerset countryside, please get in touch."
PC McDonagh can be contacted at Hereford Police Station via the West Mercia Police non-emergency line, 0300 333 3000, or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
