Somerset's PCC Sue Mountstevens is visiting Taunton next week, giving locals the chance to have their say on her first Police and Crime Plan.
The PCC's Taunton visit will give residents the opportunity to have their say on her brand new Police Crime Plan
Residents, community groups, businesses and victims of crime will all have the opportunity to discuss the plan with Ms Mountstevens during her visit to Taunton on Wednesday 30 January.
This visit is part of her tour of Avon and Somerset's six policing districts this winter.
Ms Mountstevens said: "I am keen to reach as many people as possible because it's really important that residents tell me what is important to them to ensure that it is our Police and Crime Plan.
"I know that not everyone wants to respond to an on-line survey that is why I will be out speaking to as many residents as possible.
"For the first time ever there will be a Police & Crime Plan for each of the six policing districts of Avon and Somerset including Somerset West which covers Taunton Deane.
She added: "This means each area will have its own plan with local priorities set by the public. Policing and crime affects us all and only by working together can we make sure that Somerset West's Plan addresses your policing and community safety needs."
Taunton Councillor Mark Edwards, who sits on the Police and Crime Panel for Taunton Deane's, said: "It is vital that as many residents as possible take part in this consultation the voice of our community needs to be heard and this is the first opportunity to shape the commissioner's vision of policing in our area."
Ms Mountstevens will be visiting Somerset West on Wednesday 30 January and will be at Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton from 4pm-6pm.
To have your say online, visit www.consultation.avonandsomerset.police.uk, or pick up a printed survey from a local library. Alternatively you can call 01275 816377.
The consultation closes on Friday 22 February 2013.
