Avon and Somerset police are appealing to any member of the public who can identify the man (pictured) in connection with this offence of fraud by false representation.
In November 2011, an 81-year-old man from Taunton wrote out a cheque for £75 to someone carrying out building work at his property. Later he discovered that the cheque was paid in to a bank account at the value of £7500.
Police are looking for a white male of medium build who is approximately 60-years-old. He is described as wearing glasses and having short dark, receding hair.
When seen, the man was wearing a green body-warmer and a blue shirt.
Anyone who has any information on this man is urged to contact Crimestoppers immediately.
