Racist thugs leave man wounded in Taunton's Victoria Park

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a vicious assault in Taunton last week.

At 10pm on Wednesday 2 January a 34 year old man was walking through Victoria Park to meet his wife when he was attacked by several white men wearing hooded tops.

He was punched and kicked to the ground causing extensive cuts and bruising. The thugs then shouted racial abuse before running off, police reported.

The victim was then taken to hospital for treatment.

PC Andy Williams said: "This was a particularly nasty and callous attack. The victim was left shocked, shaken and injured by this assault.

"We will be relentless in our search to track down these offenders and bring them to justice."
