Police are warning local drivers to stay safe on roads across Taunton today due to similar conditions

The road should be opened again by the end of the day - after the slippery mud has been cleared
A woman travelling along the road lost control of her car and hit a post. A few minutes later, after two other vehicles stopped to help the woman, another car failed to avoid the three vehicles causing another crash.
The road, surrounded by farmland, was covered in slippery mud due to the number of agricultural vehicles exiting and entering fields from the road in wet and mucky conditions.
The road will remain closed today while it is being cleared of mud.
PSCO Simon Parry, who was on the scene helping clear the road, has warned that these dangerous road conditions are likely to flare up across Taunton today.
He said: "There are issues with slippery muddy roads all over Taunton today so we are urging people to drive safe and keep an eye out for slippery roads.
"This woman unfortunately lost control of her car and crashed, which is a real shame because it caused the people who were helping her out to be involved in a wider scale collision themselves.
He added: "It's down to a mixture of bad conditions really, farm equipment carrying mud from surrounding fields onto a wet road on a wet day."
No-one was seriously injured in the collision.
