Liberal Democrat MP for Taunton Deane, Jeremy Browne and Councillor Justine Baker have congratulated the Frank Bond Centre in Bishops Hull on a new lottery grant.

The MP visited Frank's Café which is one activity that is put on by the Trustees of the Frank Bond Centre ,he said: "I opened the refurbished Frank Bond Centre four years ago and it is great to see how far it has come on since then. I was pleased to hear that the centre has just been given a further lottery grant so that the garden can be made suitable for various events.  The centre hosts a range of activities for all ages and is a brilliant facility for the area.

Frank's Café is a drop in centre for older people, giving them the opportunity to have a cup of tea, some breakfast and a chat with their neighbours.  Such initiatives are an important way of combating loneliness or just giving retired people a wider network of friends."

Cllr Justine Baker also paid a visit and commented:"I was delighted to visit Franks Café and to see so many people using the facility and having the chance to find out how important it is to them.  Any area would be thrilled to have such a facility on its doorstep so I am keen, along with the Trustees to make sure that it continues to be used fully.  It has a large garden area, modern kitchen and conservatory, meaning it could be used for many different events and meetings.

"Franks Café is a great success and is something that many retired people go to each week and has become an important social meeting place for them.  But the Frank Bond Centre is also keen to attract younger people to use the centre and they are always interested in having new people become part of its dedicated team."
