He served on the government committee, chaired by the Prime Minister, which supervised many aspects of London 2012, including security, transport and receiving foreign dignitaries.
Jeremy Browne said:"The Olympic Games captured the imagination of our nation. Right back when the Olympic torch came to Taunton it was clear that the public were hugely enthusiastic about hosting the Games.
"Britain should be proud of the 2012 Olympics. It was an organisational triumph, but it was the spirit of the Games which will leave a lasting impression.
"I was honoured to serve on the government committee that oversaw the London 2012 Olympics. We spent many hours trying to ensure that all aspects of the Games, like the security and transport, were in good shape.
"My personal responsibility, as foreign office minister, was for the welcoming we gave to foreign dignitaries and how we used the London 2012 Olympics to promote Britain around the world.
"We had over 100 Heads of State and Government visiting Britain for the Olympics, including the Presidents of France, Russia and Brazil. They got a very positive impression of our country. We also held daily business summits to promote British trade.
"The 2012 Olympic Games have boosted the reputation of Britain right around the world."
