The Mayor and Mayoress of Taunton are appealing to keen swimmers and fashionistas to help raise money for a charity close to their hearts.

On 2 March, 2013 a sponsored swim is being organised at Taunton Pool in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
The charity is particularly important to Mayor Terry Hall and his wife Ann because their son, who was carrying out extensive research into childhood Leukaemia, died three years ago.
Individuals and teams are welcome to enter the sponsored swim and can pick a distance of 1.5, 2.5 or 5 kilometres, with splashdown starting at 5pm.
Entry for the event is free and to take part you can enter online at http//beatingbloodcancers.org.uk/tauntonswim, by emailing Ray Southwood at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01935 424063.
Later in March Taunton's Mayoress has decided to take on her own fundraising venture, hosting a fashion show at Oake Manor Golf Club.
Tickets cost £17.50 and proceeds again will go to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, Zoggs, and the support of Tone Leisure, there will be no entry fee for the event, leaving participants free to concentrate on raising funds for the charity.
Later in March, the Mayoress is hosting a fashion show, staged by Dreams Too, of Wellington, followed by a lunch at Oake Manor Golf Club.
The cost of tickets is £17.50 and proceeds will go to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, the charity dedicated to beating blood cancers.
Mayor Terry Hall said: "I hope we will get lots of support for our charity fund raising efforts. Hopefully we have picked something for everyone – for the sporty and those interested in fashion.
"Huge advances have been made in research into beating blood cancers but there's still work to be done – and that needs financial support."
You can enter the sponsored swim online at: http//beatingbloodcancers.org.uk/tauntonswim, by emailing Ray Southwood at email@example.com or by calling 01935 424063.
