Taunton garden centre seeks couples married in '82

Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre is celebrating 30 years on March 10th and is looking for people who married in March,1982 to link in with its pearl anniversary celebrations.

Norma Moore, General Manager at the family-run garden centre at Monkton Heathfield near Taunton, explained: "We are really proud to be celebrating 30 years of business this year and are keen to find people with 30th wedding anniversaries who would like to be involved in our celebrations.
"We will be choosing three couples to help us kick off our 30th anniversary events. They will be invited to attend the official launch on Saturday, March 10th with our other VIPs.
"During the morning they will be presented with a pearl rose and will be asked to have a complimentary lunch for two in our Pondside Café."
Anyone wishing to enter should write to Norma by Wednesday, February 29th with proof of their wedding certificate. Letters can be dropped in by person, posted or emailed to N.Moore@monkton-elm.co.uk. Nominees must be happy to take part in publicity for the event.
Norma added: "During the official launch day the garden centre's owners, David and Luella Bellman, will be unveiling a commemorative terracotta display created by children from the area.
"The event will also include free entertainment and VIP guests. The first 30 visitors will receive a free slice of anniversary cake and children will be given free balloons while stocks last.
"Our anniversary launch day, which takes place from 11am on Saturday, March 10, marks the beginning of our birthday celebrations, which will continue for a 30 week period until September."
Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre was launched in 1982 and is run by the Bellman family with the help of 80 staff. Some have been with the business for more than 25 years.
