Taunton: Tests find Somerset school meals free from horse meat

School meals across Somerset have been tested following the horse meat scandal and all were found clear.

Parents and teachers have been assured that school meals in Somerset are horse meat free
Somerset County Council's Trading Standards team carried out testing on 28 samples taken from a broad range of school meal suppliers across the county.
All 28 samples were found to be free of horse meat.
A County Council spokesman said: "We are pleased that the results have come back showing no signs of horsemeat.
"We will remain vigilant and continue the process of testing food."
