The local park has now re-opened despite some of the park remaining underwater.
Diversions have been put in place to account for problem areas.
A blanket of snow covering much of Somerset gave way to a rapid thaw at the weekend and a combination of this and heavy rainfall has caused major flooding issues.
This is not the first time Vivary has found itself water-logged; last November and the previous spring the Victorian park was flooded due to extreme wet weather.
The large gates have now been locked, shutting the public out while the water drains.
A spokesperson for Taunton Deane Borough Council said: "Heavy rain, coupled with a rapid thaw of recent snow, led to the flooding over the weekend as the ground was unable to absorb the excess water after months of extreme wet weather.
"The worst hit areas are the play area and the space around the bandstand. It is not yet known if any damage has been caused."
