Avon and Somerset police is keen to get stand-up Taunton teenagers involved in Somerset Volunteer Police cadets.
Young people aged 14 – 17 who live in Taunton or attend a Taunton school are being recruited to help their communities, attend events and patrol with neighbourhood.
However, the deadline for applications is looming.
The police force is in want of two new units who will meet one evening a week during term time at Taunton Police Station and Churchill Academy.
All new cadets will receive a uniform and will be given the opportunity to learn about policing.
Older cadets will even have the opportunity to accompany PCSOs on foot patrols.
After training, cadets will be involved with helping their communities and within the first six months, the cadets will have spent 137 hours on public duties.
96% of cadets involved in the South Gloucestershire pilot cadet scheme would recommend it to family and friends interested in the police force.
Applicants must download and fill out a form from the Avon and Somerset Police website where they can also see videos of other cadets in action.
Forms should be submitted by Monday 24 September 2012.
