Watch out for icy roads

Well we might have only got a very slight sprinkle of snow in the Taunton area but what little we had, melted and froze overnight into some nasty icy patches on the roads so do be careful, especially if you are out on those back lanes.

 After such a mild start to the winter, all that snow of last year seems far behind us and it is easy to be a bit too complacent; I hit a strange patch of cold air yesterday whilst travelling the backroads and it was a bit like a scene ot of that film The Day After Tomorrow, my windscreen instantly froze over, it wasquite spooky as there was no visible mist or anything so it took me quite by surprise.

 The long range forecast is for cold and wintry conditions to continue,in other words they are hedging their bets a little but it looks like snow is off the menu at the moment...however,if the wind changes...watch this space!
