It's been the wettest summer in over a century but the people of Taunton and Wellington will be required to take off their wellington-boots this weekend.

World Wellington Throwing Competition 2011
People across Somerset will be hurling themselves into the fourth annual World Wellington Boot Throwing Championships this Saturday at the playing fields at Court Fields Community School in Wellington.
Competitors of any age will have the chance to get stuck in as the classes range from those aged six and under categories to groups for adults. Those who attend will have the chance to compete in a range of different events including team wellington chucking and longest throw.
As well as competing against the fiercest wellington-pelting contenders in Britain, there is much more on offer for the whole family to enjoy.
Competitors and spectators will be able to enjoy a range of stalls, majorettes, face-painting, live music, a bar, refreshments and a raffle.
A bouncy castle will be available for the youngsters to enjoy – but stay alert and make sure no rogue wellington thrower nabs their boots while they're bouncing!
Organisers have asked that businesses around Taunton and Wellington help with this event either by donating a raffle prizes or money. The profits raised from the raffle this year will be donated to GoCommando; an organisation dedicated to supporting Royal Marines and their families.
Local businesses and organisations are also invited to have a stand at the event. If you wish to set up a pitch please email Sue.White@wellingtonchamber.co.uk. The cost of setting up a stall will be £10.
The event will take place on September 8 2012 and kicks off at 12 noon. Prizes will be presented to the best hurlers at 6 pm.
Entrance to the event is free but there will be a charge for those wishing to enter the wellington throwing competition.
