A Man wanted by Manchester Police may still be on the loose in the Taunton area.

Police are appealing for the public's help to trace Anthony Kenneth Calvert (02/12/1962) of Deane, Bolton who is charged with 23 counts of rape and other sexual offences over a 20-year period.

He was due to stand trial at Bolton Crown Court on 12 October 2009 but failed to attend and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Detective Constable Jill Hardman, of Bolton CID, said "Calvert has been charged with some of the most serious offences and it is vital we find him so he can stand trial.

"A recent appeal on Crimewatch gave lead us to believe that Calvert still has strong links to Avon and Somerset, particularly Taunton.I would urge anyone who knows where he is to call police immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to call Bolton CID on 0161 856 5757, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.  or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org  they never ask for your name or trace your call.
