Hurray!
Spring is sprung (well - just about) and the outdoor boot sale seasson is getting underway again.
I love 'em - a most wonderful invention.
My wife and I have been doing bootsales for about 5 years and I reckon that we've made more friends in that time than we did in the previous 20 years.
For three years we sold things - we had a stall at which we sold pretty well anything we could get our hands on. And then we changed things around and nowadays we buy things at bootsales to put on eBay instead.
Later this year we aim to do both - somehow we can't resist the enjoyment of convincing people that the rubbish we've got for sale is just what they've always wanted!
And bootsales are excellent ways to spend a Sunday morning.
What else would we do? Probably lay in bed or sit around the house.
Loads of fresh air. Plenty of stimulating conversation. Tons of exercise.
And a few quid in your pocket as well.
We're not alone. The bootsale we usually attend (Prockter's Farm) is usually packed out with people. On a busy weekend something like a thousand people gather for a nose round. It isn't just a 'shopping trip' - it's a family outing too.
Roll on a busy summer bootsale season!
