Somerset Guiding celebrates
Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in Somerset are celebrating the fact that overall membership of Girlguiding in the County has increased by over 5% in the past year.

There are 228 units meeting each week in the County, supported by over 800 volunteers each week – and probably many more behind the scenes. Thank you to all those involved for the hard work and enthusiasm you manage to pack into those weekly meetings!

Over the past year girls all over the County have enjoyed Going Wild at Noahs Ark farm, as well as in other zoos and wildlife parks, Taking Over a number of venues including @-Bristol and Foxlease Guiding centre in the New Forest, Getting Away to a number of different places including Huish Woods and Yorkshire and a number of Ultimate Adventures to venues from Sangam Guiding Centre in India to Iceland.

Becky Brownlow, Ranger, Taunton North, 15 years, says the best thing about Guiding is seeing all my friends and having the opportunity to travel both in the UK and overseas.
Barbara Dale, County Commissioner, is delighted with the increase in membership. She said: Girlguiding is now part of the lives of thousands of girls and across the County and with our commitment to flexible Guiding we hope to bring Guiding to many more girls over the next 12 months.

Women who love a challenge, are young at heart and looking for something new to spice up their evenings should call Barbara on 01460 73713 or call 0800 1 69 50 01.
