Randle P. McMurphy refuses to follow the rules, and has just been transferred from the state penitentiary to a mental asylum. Is he just a rebel or the one sane man in a crazy world? This American masterpiece of theatre will make you laugh out loud and shock you to the core as it reaches its unforgettable climax.
This production is part of the Heathfield Year 11 Drama Festival and is based on the original 1960s stage play (adapted from the 1962 novel by Ken Kesey), which pre-dates the more famous 1975 film version. It is a play that goes right to the core of what it actually means to be human, and has provided a wealth of great acting opportunities for the talented cast.
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Heathfield Year 11 Drama Festival. For over 20 years the festival has resulted in around 100 full-length week-long productions, which have included nearly 2000 student performers. To celebrate this special anniversary Heathfield Community School’ s gifted young actors have produced a funny, exhilarating, powerful and shocking piece of theatre that is at once provocative and gripping.
