Taunton residents help with drugs arrest

A drugs raid in the Sherford area of Taunton resulted in around 250 cannabis plants being seized from a rented three bedroomed house and a man being arrested at the scene.There was an elaborate hydroponics set up in the house.

The search warrant was the result of help from the public and the man is in custody at Taunton Police station for production of cannabis, waiting further investigation.
Neighbourhood Beat Team Sergeant Tony Crowter said: "Every piece of intelligence police receive is taken seriously and swiftly acted upon. I want to encourage people to observe what is happening in their community and tell the police if they are aware of anything suspicious or drug related activity.
"This successful warrant shows the importance of the community working with us to beat this type of crime. This operation reinforces our commitment to tackle illegal drugs and deal robustly with those involved in their production and supply."

This is precisely why we do not want cuts in our local policing, if the government start taking away the front line guys who have worked so hard within our communities over the last few years, and basically got the bobby back on the beat or as close as we will get to it , we will be back to the 80s.
