Yes V Day is nearly here again and for some there is that agonising decision of what to do about it.

A nice meal out is always a winner, especially if it gives the 'cook'  a night off,or perhaps you are planning that particular romantic event?

Wine & sausage at the Corner Hotel offers the ultimate Valentine's menu with champagne reception ,harp music and a gift for your beloved it is only for Saturday Feb 12th though. They also have rooms if you want to make a weekend of it.

The Castle Hotel also offers that gourmet experience with a glass of champers and opulent surroundings

For the mid range pocket without compromising on quality, there is Willow Tree,a charming restaurant tucked away by the river , a nice place for a romantic moonlight stroll after dinner.

Edwardo's is a quaint little place down near County Hall, as far as I know they are not doing a special menu so their prices will be  reasonable as always.

If you like eastern food China China specialise in Cantonese, great for seafood and vegetarians.

Of course if you would rather be in 'casa homa' the best plan is to go to Cook and get the whole dinner in quality frozen food and treat your loved one, or if neither of you want to cook, send out for a curry from  the award winning Miriam who offer free delivery within three miles but don't' forget the candles, flowers and champagne!
