Why I like Taunton
I have been coming to Taunton for several years now. My previous job bought me there most weeks and I always enjoyed being in the town. Being the County Town I felt quite strongly that it should have a Town Crier in keeping with one of our oldest traditions and I wanted to expand my role as Crewkernes Crier, a position for which I am extremely proud. I have been trying to get accepted by Taunton Council for some months now and whilst I did seem to be making progress, I still have not received the go ahead. This is a shame, I am fully equipped so there would be no financial outlay, all I need is a formal go ahead. Do I keep trying or should I channel my efforts elsewhere?
